Velocity |
Free online velocity calculator – calculate velocity just enter displacement and time value and you get the value of velocity
Velocity Formula
The formula for velocity is:
V= D / T
- v = velocity of an object in meter per second (m/s)
- D = Displacement of an object in meter (m)
- T = Time of an object in second (s)
How to calculate velocity?
To calculate velocity, you need to know the position of an object and the time of the object.
Here are the steps to calculate velocity:
- Determine the distance (m, km, mil..etc)
- Determine the time (s, m, h)
- calculate the velocity (v) by dividing distance by the time: v = d / t
Solved Example
For example – If a car travels 50 meters in 10 seconds, then find the velocity of a car.
Car distance covered = 50 meters
Car time taken in 50 m = 10 seconds
Velocity of car = distance covered by car / time taken by car = 50 meters / 10 second = 5 m/s
velocity of the car is 5 meters per second.
What is velocity?
Velocity is defined as the rate of change of an object’s position with respect to time. In physics, the velocity of an object is represented by the symbol ‘v’
